Here you are my friend hope this will help you!

343 = 7^3

49 = 7^2

7^(x+y) = 7^3

7^(x-y) = 7^2

x+y = 3

x-y = 2

Add and solve for "x"::

2x = 5

x = 5/2

y = x - 2 = (5/2)-2 = 1/2

Answer:

x=1/2 and y=5/2

Step-by-step explanation:

7^x-y = 7^2

where, x-y = 2 [equation (1)]

And,

7^x+y = 7^3

where, x+y = 3 [equation (2)]

Therefore, adding (1) and (2),

(x-y)+(x+y) = 3+2

2x = 5

x = 5/2

Substitute the value of x in any of the equations, Ibam substituting it in equation 2.

5/2+y = 3

y = 1/2

Ans. The value of x is 5/2 and the subsequent value of y is 1/2.
