Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:-

Let the number be X

Five time of the number=5X

7/2 is added to five times of the number

=>5X+7/2....(1)

3/2 of the number=3X/2

14 is subtracted from 3/2 of a number

=>3X/2-14....(2)

from (1)&(2)

=>5X+7/2=3X/2-14

=>(10X+7)/2=(3X-28)/2

Cancelling 2 on both sides

=>10X+7=3X-28

=>10X-3X=-28-7

=>7X= -35 or 7X+35=0

=>X=- 35/7

=>X=-5

The required number is -5

Check:-

LHS:-

7by2is added to five time of a number

= 7/2+5(-5)

=>7/2-25

=>(7-50)/2

=>-43)2......(1)

RHS:-

14 is subtract from 3by2 of a number

=>3/2(-5)-14

=>-15/2-14

=>(-15-28)/2

=>-43/2....(2)

LHS =RHS is true for X=-5
