If 7x + 27o and 4x – 14o are complementary angles, what is the value of x?

Solution:

Complementary angles is, A° + B° = 90°.

So,

A = 7x + 27° , and B = 4x -14°

(7x + 27°) + (4x - 14°) = 90°

7x + 4x + 27° + (-14°) = 90°

11x + 13° = 90°

11x = 90° - 13°

11x = 77°

x = \frac{77}{11}

x = 7

The answer is x=7.
