If 7x + y = 6 and 5x + y = 2, what is the value of 6x + y?​

Answer:

Subtract the two to get value of x => 7x+y-(5x+y)=6-2...2x=4....x=2

So 5*2+y=2.....y=-8

Thus, 6x+y=6*2-8=4

OR

Add the two => 7x+y+(5x+y)=6+2...12x+2y=8.....6x+y=4

Solving the two equations simultaneously, we get the value of x as 2, on inputting the value of x in any equation will give you the value of y as -8.

On substituting the value of x & y the value of 6x+y= 6*2-8=4.

Therefore the OA is D.
