 \frac{8}{14}  =  \frac{64}{y}

After cross multiplication

14×64=8y

8y=896

y=112°

 \frac{8}{14} =  \frac{x}{140}

After cross multiplication

8×140= 14x

14x= 1120

x=80

Answer:

We can write like this,

8/14 = 64/y or 8/14 = x/140

Now,

By cross multiplication, we get

=> 8y = 64 × 14

=> y = 8 × 14

=> y = 112

Similarly,

8/14 = x/140

So, By cross multiplication, we get

=> 14x = 140 × 8

=> x = 80

So the values of x and y are 80 and 112 respectively.
