Answer:

Rs.100

Step-by-step explanation:

8.75 m = Rs 875

1 m = ?

Applying criss cross multiplication

⇒ 8.75m x ?  = Rs 875 x 1m

⇒ 875/ 100  x ? = Rs .875 x 1

⇒ ? = Rs.875 x 1  x 100 / 875

⇒ ? = (Rs.875 x 1  x 100) / 875

⇒ ? = Rs. 1 x 100

⇒ ? = Rs.100

To find: cost of  one metre of the cloth.

Solution :

we are given that cost of 8.75m of cloth is Rs 875.

let us find cost of 1 m cloth ,

cost of 8.75\  m = Rs \ 875

then cost of  1 \ m = \frac{1 \times 875}{8.75}

to remove decimal we multiply numerator and denominator by 100

           1\ m = \frac{875 \times 100}{8.75 \times 100}

                   = \frac{87500}{875}

 cost \ of \ 1 m = 100\  Rs

Hence , cost of 1m cloth is Rs 100.
