Given : 8 is at unit place of a number

To Find : number is always a multiple of ..

Solution:

Number ending with 0 , 2 , 4 , 6 and 8

are called Even numbers

and all even numbers are divisible by 2

Hence Number with 8 at unit place is even number

Hence always divisible by 2

so always a multiple of 2

8 = 4 x 2

18 = 9 x 2

28  = 7 x 2

Number to divisible by  4 last two digits should be divisible by 4

hence 28 is divisible by 4  but  not  18 or 38

Number to divisible by  8 last three digits should be divisible by 8

hence 128 is divisible by 8  but  not  118 or 138

Hence If 8 is at unit place of a number then number is always a multiple of 2
