let one kg of potato be t and the other be v.
8t+7v=270    -eqn 1.
2t+3v=120 (xby 4)
8t+7v=270   -eqn 1
8t+12v=480   subtract
0t -5v = -210
5v=210
v=210/5=42.
Therefore, one kg of carrot costs Rs.42
t=120-42=78.
Therefore, one kg of potato costs Rs.78.
Hope this will help you.
