∵ sin X = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}

∵ cos  X = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}

∴ cos X = \frac{8}{7}    ---------> (2)

by subtracting (2) from (1) :

∴ sinx - cos x = \frac{15}{7}  -  \frac{8}{7} = 1
