if 8 term of ap is 31 and 15 term is 16 more than its 11 term find the ap

→ a₈ = 31.

→a₁₅ = 16 + a₁₁ .

To find :-

→ AP.

Solution :-

→ a₈ = 31.

⇒ a + 7d = 31..........(1).

And,

→ a₁₅ = 16 + a₁₁.

⇒ a + 14d = 16 + a + 10d.

⇒ 14d - 10d = 16.

⇒ 4d = 16.

⇒d = 4.

put the value of d in eqyation (1), we get

⇒ a + 7d = 31.

⇒ a + 7 × 4 = 31.

⇒ a + 28 = 31.

⇒ a = 31 - 28.

⇒ a = 3.

Hence, the AP is 3 , 7, 11 , ...... .
