Option (a) is right answer.

Step- by - step explanation

Let the rejected applicants be x

The rejected applicants are = 80%

80% = No. of rejected applicants/Total no of applicants × 100

80% = x/ 100× 100

x = 80

No. of rejected applicants= 80

Let the no of accepted applicants = y

The accepted applicants are = 100% - 80% = 20%

20% = y/ 100×100

y = 20

No. of accepted applicants = 20

The ratio of accepted & Rejected applicants = 20/80

20:80 = 1:4 Hence proved
