Given :  8th, 15th and 22nd terms of a G.P. are x, y and z respectively

To Find : show that y = √xz

Solution:

Let say GP

first term = a

common ratio = r

nth term = arⁿ⁻¹

8th  term = ar⁷  = x

15th term = ar¹⁴  = y

22nd term = ar²¹ = z

y =  ar¹⁴

=> y² = ar¹⁴.ar¹⁴

=> y² = ar⁷.ar²¹

=> y² = xz

=> y = √xz
