Given : 9 examiners can examine a certain number of answer books in 12 days, working 5 hours a day;

To Find : for how many hours a day would 4 examiners have to work in order to examine twice the number of answer books in 30 days

a) 6

b) 8

c) 9

d) 10

Solution:

9 examiners can examine a certain number of answer books in 12 days, working 5 hours a day;

Hence 9 *  12 * 5  =  540  Man hrs  required to do work

twice the number of answer

Hence work = 2 * 540  = 1080 Man hrs

Examiners = 4

Days = 30

Numbers of hrs daily  = x

Total Man hrs = 4 * 30 * x  = 120x  Man hrs

Equate man hrs

120x  = 1080

=> x = 9

Hence  9 hrs a day to be worked

Option c) 9 is correct
