Since, hydrogen and oxygen combine in the ratio 1:8 to form water
Therefore 1x+8x=9g
9x=9
X=9/9
Therefore mass of hydrogen =1x=1×9/9=9/9g or 1g
Mass of oxygen =8x =8×9/9=8×1=8g
