Answer:

let the number be p,

acc to the question,

3p + 9 = 2p²

2p²-3p-9=0

2p²-6p+3p-9=0

2p(p-3)+3(p-3)=0

(p-3)(2p+3)=0

so, p-3=0, p=3

and 2p+3=0, p=-3/2

but the ques is asking for a positive number, so we will consider only the positive value of p which is 3
