9:x::x:25

=> 9/x = x/25

=> 9 × 25 = x²

=> √ 9 × 25 = x

=> √ 3×3×5×5 = x

=> 3×5 = x

=> 15 = x

So the new ratio is.....

9:15::15:25

Given :

  •  \bf{9:x::x:25}

To Find :

  • The value of x.

Solution :

We know that

\underline{\boxed{\red {\tt{Product \:of \: means  = Product \: of \: extremes }}}}

Substituting the values :

 \implies{ \sf{x  \times x = 25  \times 9}} \\  \\

\implies{ \sf{ x^2 = 225}}  \\  \\

\implies{ \sf{ x =  \sqrt{225}}} \\  \\

\implies{ \sf{ x =  \sqrt{3\times 3 \times 5\times 5}}} \\  \\

\implies{ \sf{ x =  \sqrt{3^2\times 5^2}}} \\  \\

\implies { \underline{ \boxed{ \bf{ x =  15}}}}

Hence, the value of x is 15.

Note :

  • 225 = 15², so root of 225 = 15.

  • x× x =
