if a+1/a=17/4,find the value of a-1/a by using identity

a+1/a=17/4
(a+1/a)^2 =289/16
a^2 +(1/a) ^2 +2*a*1/a=289/16
a^2 + 1/a^2 +2 =289/16
a^2 + 1/a^2 =(289-32)/16
a^2 + 1/a^2 =257/16......…..........(1)

Now,
(a-1/a)^2 = a^2 + 1/a^2 - 2*a*1/a
(a-1/a)^2 = 257/16 - 2 (Using equation 1)
(a-1/a)^2 = (257-32)/16
(a-1/a)^2 = 225/16
a-1/a = 15/4
