(18)²=( a²+1/à²)+2

(a²+1/à²)= 324-2

(a²+1/a²)= 322....(1)

Now,

(a-1/a)²= a²+(1/a)² - 2 × a × (1/a)

keep value by (1) ..

we get ,

(a-1/a)²= 322-2

= 320

(a-1/a)= √(320)
