THE ANSWER IS HERE,

 = > \: a - \frac{1}{a} = 3

Cubing on both sides.

 = > \: {(a - \frac{1}{a} )}^{3} = {a}^{3} - ({ \frac{1}{a}) }^{3} - 3a( \frac{1}{a} )(a - \frac{1}{a} )

 = > \: \: {3}^{3 } = {a}^{3} - ( { \frac{1}{a} )}^{3} - 3(3)

 = > \: {a}^{3} - {( \frac{1}{a} )}^{3} = 27 +9 = 36.

So, The answer is 36.
