✡ ROCKY HERE ✌

a + 1 = b

b = a + 1 ----(1)

b = 2a ---(2)

substituting eq (1) in eq (2)

a + 1 = 2a

a = 1 ---(3)

substituting eq (3) in eq (1)

b = 1 + 1

b = 2

a = 1 and b = 2

Answer:

a = 1

b = 2

Note:

★ If two ordered pairs are equal, then the corresponding coordinates are also equal , ie ; if (x , y) = (a , b) , then x = a and y = b .

Solution:

  • Given : (a + 1 , b) = (b , 2a)
  • To find : a , b = ?

We have ;

(a + 1 , b) = (b , 2a)

Thus,

=> a + 1 = b { equating x-coordinates }

=> a = b - 1 --------(1)

Also ,

b = 2a -------(2) { equating y-coordinates }

Now,

Putting b = 2a in eq-(1) , we get ;

=> a = b - 1

=> a = 2a - 1

=> a - 2a = -1

=> -a = -1

=> a = 1

Now,

Putting a = 1 in eq-(2) , we get ;

=> b = 2a

=> b = 2×1

=> b = 2

Hence,

a = 1

b = 2
