if (a , 1) lies on the line represented by equation 3x + y = 10 then the value of a is what?​

Answer:

Line on the graph is represented by equation 3x + y = 10

Let the point which lies on the line be S( a , 1 )

As we know that a point which lies on a line on graph is represented by       ( x , y ) . Therefore value of x = a and value of y = 1

Now ,

putting values of x and y in the equation x  =  a and y = 1

⇒ 3x + y = 10

⇒ 3( a ) + ( 1 ) = 10

⇒ 3a + 1 = 10

⇒ 3a = 10 - 1

⇒ 3a = 9

⇒ a = 9/3

⇒ a = 3

Therefore value of a is 3 and point S( a , 1 ) is S(3 , 1)
