It can be seen that the 3ohm and 6ohm resistors are connected in series. So equivalent resistance through them,R=3+6

=9ohm.

It can be seen that 4ohm and 8ohm resistors are also connected in series,So equivalent resistance through them,R'=4+8

=12ohm.

Now, R and R' are connected in parallel, So equivalent resistance through them,1/R"=1/9+1/12

1/R"=7/36

R"=36/7

R"=5.14(approx)

Now, given that potential difference is 12 V.

Therefore current flowing through circuit,I=V/R

=12/5.14

=2.33A

Potential difference will be same in R and R" as they are in parallel.Also current through 4ohm and 8ohm resistors will be same as the are in series.

Therefore current through 8ohm resistor,I'=12/8

=1.5
