Three Resistance are connected in Series.
R1 and R2 ohms.
Battery of 12 volts is connected to series.
(i) the total effective resistance of the arrangement :
1/R=1/R1+1/R2
1/R=R1+R2/R1R2
∴R=R1/R2/R1+R2
ii) Total current flowing in a circuit:
By ohms law :
V=IR
I=V/R
I=12*(R1+R2)/R1R2 amperes.
