If a 12V battery is connected to an arrangement of resistances given calculate (i) the total effective resistance of the arrangement (ii) the total current flowing in the circuit

Three Resistance are connected in Series.
R1 and R2 ohms.
Battery of 12 volts is connected to series.
 (i) the total effective resistance of the arrangement :
1/R=1/R1+1/R2

1/R=R1+R2/R1R2

∴R=R1/R2/R1+R2

ii) Total current flowing in a circuit:
By ohms law :
 V=IR
I=V/R
I=12*(R1+R2)/R1R2 amperes.
