If A(-2,1) B(a,0) C(4,b) and D(1,2) are vertices of parallelogram ,then find values ofa and b . Hence find the length of its sides

The parallelogram ABCD is formed

Opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal.

AB = CD or BC = AD

Apply distance formula,

√(a + 2)² + (1)² = √(4 - 1)² + (2 - b)²

√(a + 2)² + 1 = √9 + (2 - b)²

Squaring both side

(a + 2)² + 1  = 9 + (2 - b)²

On solving this question, you can easily find out the length of its side.
