see in case of this mathematics there is no prove for an addition to be associative property but we can say the associative property is the sum of this three given number. It donot factors whether the arragement is different. In this case It can be explained the arrangement. so, observ the following steps to verify your doubt.

a= -2/3

b= 1/4

c= -5/4

therefore= (a+b)+c = a+(b+c)

LHS = (a+b)+c

=(-2/3+1/4)+-5/4

=(-8+3/12)+-5/4

= -5/12 + -5/4

= -5-15/12

= -20/12 = -5/3 ( standard form)

RHS = a+(b+c)

= -2/3+(1/4+-5/4)

= -2/3+(1-5/4)

= -2/3+(-4/4)

= -2/3+(-1)

= -2/3-1

= -2-3/3

= -5/3

Hence, therefore LHS = RHS

So, there is a solution regarding your doubt.
