If a=2+√3 find the value of a-1/a and a+1/a

Answer :

a = 2+√3
then,
a-1 / a = ( 2+√3 ) -1 / 2+√3
= 2+ √3 -1 / 2 + √3
= 1 + √3 / 2 + √3

a+1 / a = ( 2+ √3 ) +1 / 2+ √3
= 3 + √3 / 2+ √3
