matrices:

     A² = - 3 I
     A X A = - 3 I
 multiply with A⁻¹ on both sides..
     A⁻¹ X A  X A = - 3 A⁻¹
         I X A = A = -3  A⁻¹

so  A⁻¹ = -1/3 * A

  A² = - 3 I
     A X A = - 3 I
 multiply with A⁻¹ on both sides..
     (A⁻¹) X A  X A = - 3 (A⁻¹)
         I X A = A = -3  A⁻¹

so  A⁻¹ = -1/3 * A hence proved
