Given :    A(2,4) and B ( x:x is a solution of x²+6x+8= 0 )

To find : A and B are equal sets or Disjoint set

Solution:

B ( x:x is a solution of x²+6x+8= 0 )

x²+6x+8= 0

=> x² + 4x + 2x + 8 = 0

=> x(x + 4) + 2(x + 4) = 0

=> (x + 2)(x + 4) = 0

=> x = -2  or x = -4

=> B = {-2 , - 4}

A  = { 2 , 4}   B = { -2 , - 4}

Two sets are said to be equal, if they contain the same elements.

Hence A & B are not Equal set

two sets are said to be disjoint sets if they have no element in common.

A & B does not have any element common

hence A& B are disjoint set
