If a^2 -5a+1=0 then a^3+1/a^3=?

Answer:

given= a+a^2+a^3–1=0

a+a^2+a^3=1

Taking ‘a’ common in LHS.

a(1+a+a^2)=1

1+a+a^2=1/a ………..(1)

Now what you need to find is a^3+1/a

So substitute the value of 1/a from equation (1)

This gives us a^3+ 1+a+a^2

=a^3+a^2+a+1

=1+1

= 2

So 2 is the required answer.
