QUESTION :

● If a²+ 6a + x = (a+3)² then find the value of x

ANSWER :

x = 9

EXPLANATION :

GIVEN :

An equation a² + 6a + x = (a + 3)²

TO FIND :

Value of 'x' .

SOLUTION :

An equation –

a² + 6a + x = (a + 3)²

We know that –

=> (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2 ab

Applying formula in equation –

=> a² + 6a + x = a² + (3)² + 2(a)(3)

=> a² + 6a + x = a² + 9 + 6a

=> a² + 6a + x = a² + 6a + 9

Now compare –

=> x = 9

EXTRA INFORMATION :

(1) (a - b)² = a² + b² - 2ab

(2) (a + b + c)² = a² + b² + c² + 2ab + 2bc + 2ca

(3) (a + b - c)² = a² + b² + c² + 2ab - 2bc - 2ca

(4) (a - b + c)² = a² + b² + c² - 2ab - 2bc + 2ca

(5) (- a + b + c)² = a² + b² + c² - 2ab + 2bc - 2ca
