a²+b² = 52 and ab = 6

we know that

(a+b)²= a²+b²+2ab

= 52 +2×6

= 52+12

= 64

(a+b)² = 64

(a+b) = √64

1) (a+b)= 8

2) we know that

(a-b)² = a²+b² -2ab

= 52 -2×6

= 52-12

= 40

(a-b)² = 40

(a-b)= √40

(a-b) = 2√10
