Hello there.

When two batteries are connected in opposite direction, the electric potential opposes each other

In the given case

net V
=24-10
=14v

A net voltage of 14 v will now act in the circuit.

If there are two batteries and are joined in series, then it means that the current will remain same on both batteries and the potential will be reduced, since they are joined in opposite direction.

Hence,

Net Voltage
= V1 - V2
= 24v - 10v
= 14v

Hope it helps you!!!
