a = 3 + 1.41

a = 4.141

so, a-1/a = 4.141 - \frac{1}{4.141}

LCM = 4.141

so \frac{4.141}{1} * \frac{4.141}{4.141} = \frac{17.147}{4.141}

so a-1/a = \frac{17.147}{4.141} - \frac{1}{4.141}

Answer = \frac{16.147}{4.141}
