Given : A(3, 4) B(7, 9) and C(x, 2) are the vertices of ΔABC whose centroid is G(4, y)

To find :  values of x and  y

Solution:

Centroid of triangle is where Medians coincides

Centroid of Triangle with vertices (x₁ , y₁) , (x₂ , y₂) and (x₃, y₃) is given by

(x₁ + x₂ + x₃)/3 , (y₁ + y₂ + y₃)/3

A(3, 4) B(7, 9) and C(x, 2) are the vertices of ΔABC

centroid is G(4, y)

=> 4  = (3 + 7 + x)/3   and  y = (4 + 9 + 2)/3

=> 12 = 10 + x       and y = 15/3

=> x = 2   and y = 5

Value of x is 2  and y is 5
