Given :-

  • A= {3 6 9 12 15 18 21} and B{4 8 12 16 20} and C={2 4 6 8 10 12 14 }

To find :-

  • (A-B) U (C-A)

Solution :-

  • Difference of sets

→ The difference of A and B, written as A - B, is the set of all those elements of A which do not belong to B.

Now, it is given that

  • A = {3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21}

  • B = {4, 8, 12, 16, 20}

  • C = {2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14}

Firstly, we have to find

→ A - B = {3, 6, 9, 15, 18, 21}

→ C - A = {2, 4, 8, 10, 14}

  • Union of sets

→ The union of A and B is the set of all those elements which belong either to A or to B or to both A and B.

→ It is denoted by A U B (read as A union B)

(A - B) U (C - A) = {2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 18, 21}

Hence,

  • Value of (A - B) U (C - A) = {2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 18, 21}
