IF a = 3 + root 2/ 3 - root 2 , b = 1 / a find a 2 + b 2 ?

a=3+√2/3-√2

b=1/a

by rationallising the denominators of a & b we get

a=11+6√2\7

b=77-42√2\13

now by using a2+b2=[a+b]2-2ab this identity you can solve easily
