now,

A - B = (3i - 5j) - (-i - 4j)

=> (3i + i) + (-5i + 4j)

=> (4i - j)

similarly,

A + B = (3i - 4j) + (-i - 4j)

=> 2i - 8j

therefore, |A + B| = √(2² + 8²) = √68
