(a-b)-c

= (-4/7 - 2/11) - 1/3

= (-44/77 - 14/77) - 1/3

= -58/77 - 1/3

= -159/231 - 77/231

= - 236/231

a-(b-c)

= -4/7 - (2/11 - 1/3)

= - 4/7 - ( 6/33 - 11/33 )

= -4/7 + 5/33

= - 132/231 + 35/231

= - 97/231

-236/231 is not the same as -97/231

hence proved
