a=4-b ....(1)

2a+b=1 ....(2)

Substituting value of a from (1) in (2):

2(4-b)+b=1

8-2b+b=1

8-b=1

b=7

Putting value of b in (1):

a=4-7

a=-3

Answer:

Given ,

a = 4 - b --(1)

2a + b = 1 ----(2)

Therefore , by using Substitution Method ;

Substituting equation (1) in (2)

.

. .Equation (2) => 2a + b = 1

=>2(4-b) + b = 1

=>8 - 2b + b = 1

=> - b = 1- 8

=> - b = - 7

=> b = 7 [both side( - )are cancel]

Now,

Putting the value b= 7 in equation (1)

.

. . Equation (1) => a = 4- b

=> a= 4- 7

=> a = - 3

Therefore , the required values of a is - 3 and b is 7

Hope help you

Thank you
