  • Answer:

lets find b's value

b= __1___

  5 + 2 √ 6

then rationalize the denominator

1/5+2√ 6 = 1/5+2 √ 6 * 5-2 √6/5-2√6

= 5-2√6/25-4*6 = 5 - 2 √6/ 25-24

= 5-2 √ 6

b = 5 - 2 √6

a^2 + b^2 = (5+2√6)∧2+(5-2√6)^2

= (25 + 4*6)+(25-4*6)

= (25+24)+(25-24)

= 49 + 1 = 50

hope it helps. pls mark as brainliest
