If a=5+2root6and b=1/a then find the value of aa2+b^2

Answer:

a=5+2√6

b=1/a

= rationalising the value of 'b'=1/a

=1/5+2√6

=1x5-2√6/5+2√6x5-2√6

=5-2√6/(5)^2 - (2√6)^2

=5-2√6/25-24

=5-2√6/1 =5-2√6=b

to find: 2+b^2

=2+(5-2√6)^2

=2+(5)^2+(2√6)^2-2x5x2√6

=2+25+24-20√6

=51-20√6
