Let B be the component of B along A:

Magnitude: |C|=A.B=B.A=(3*-2)+(-2*1)+(1*3)=-5 so C is projected opposite to A.

Now the direction of C will be the unit vector on A:

A/|A|=)/sqrt(3*3+2*2+1*1)=)/sqrt(14)

So: C=-5*()/sqrt(14))

What we did was C=B.A/|A|

Also () but beware of the example there because it presents projection of a on b !!!

Hope it helps
