Using the Unitary Method to solve the Given Problem.

∵ 63.5 grams of Food will produce 17600 Food Calories.

∴ 1 grams of Food will produce 17600/63.5 Food Calories.

∴ 1 grams of Food will produce 277.17 Food Calories.

Hence, Food Calories produced per gram from metabolic activities is 277.17  Cal/g.

In Joule, 277.17 Cal/g = 277.17 × 4.2

= 1164.09 J/g.

Hope it helps.
