if a=7/8,b=-1/7 then verify a+b=b+a

Answer:

LHS: a+b = 7/8 + (-1/7) = 7/8 - 1/7 = (49 - 8)/56 {by taking LCM}

= 41/56

RHS: b+a = -1/7 + 7/8 = (-8 + 49)/56 {taking LCM}

= 41/56

therefore LHS = RHS; Hence verified
