a - 3b = 2.1

GIVEN:-

a = 8+ (-0.2)

b = 2+ (-0.1)

TO FIND:- a - 3b

SOLUTION:-

  • Plus sign + minus sign = minus

a = 8 + ( - 0.2) \\  = 8 - 0.2 \\  = 7.8

b = 2 + ( - 0.1) \\  = 2 - 0.1 \\  = 1.9

According to the question we need to find the value of

a - 3b

BY SUBSTITUTING THE VALUES WHERE a = 7.8 and b = 1.9

a - 3b \\  = 7.8 - (3 \times 1.9) \\  = 7.8 - 5.7 \\  = 2.1

Hence, a - 3b = 2.1
