d = a - 2 - a

= -2

d = 3a - (a - 2)

= 3a - a + 2

= 2a + 2

2a + 2 = -2

2a = -2 - 2 = -4

a = -4 ÷ 2 = -2

-2 is the answer.

And the AP is -2, -4, -6,...

Hope this will be helpful.
