 \boxed{ \bold{ \huge \red {\mathfrak{solution}}}}

Given:

a , a-2 and 3a are in AP

To find : a=?

For an AP common difference must be same so ,

=> t2-t1= t3-t2

=> a-2-a = 3a-a+2

=> -2=2a+2

=>-2-2=2a

=> a = -4/2

=> a = -2

Hence the value of a is

 \boxed{ \huge  \bold \purple{ \mathfrak{ - 2}}}
