SOLUTION :

Given : a and b are relatively prime numbers.

RELATIVELY PRIME NUMBERS :

When two numbers have no common factors other than 1.

They are also called "coprime" or "mutually prime".

For é.g :

★★ Let a = 14 and b = 15 are relatively prime:

The factors of 14 : 1,2,7

The factors of 15 : 1,3,5

HCF (14,15) = 1

HCF (a,b ) = 1

★★ Let a = 21 and b = 22 are relatively prime:

The factors of 21 are 1, 3, 7

The factors of 22 are 1, 2, 11

HCF (21, 22) = 1

HCF (a,b ) = 1

Hence, the HCF in both the cases is ONE (1).

★★HCF : HCF of two or more numbers =  product of the smallest power of each common prime factor involved in the numbers.
