If A and B are the points (- 6, 7) and (- 1, -5), then find the value of 2AB ?

Answer:

given coordinates are A(-6,7) and B(-1,-5)

let,. x1=-6,. x2=-1

y1=7. y2=-5

by using distance formula..

d(AB)=[(x1-x2)+(y1-y2)]^1/2

=[(-6+1)+(7+5)]^1/2

=√(12-5)

=√7

AB=√7

.'. 2AB=2√7 units
