If a and b are the roots of 6x^2-7x-3, find the value of a^2+b^2

HERE IS YOUR SOLUTION...,,

6x^2 - 7x - 3 = 0

6x^2 - 9x + 2x - 3 = 0

3x(2x - 3) +1(2x - 3) = 0

(3x+1) (2x-3) = 0

(3x+1) = 0 or (2x - 3) = 0

x = -1/3 or x = 3/2

a = -1/3 and b = 3/2

= a^2 + b^2

= (-1/3)^2 + (3/2)^2

= 1/9 + 9/4

= 4 + 81/36

= 85/36

= 2.36
